Precaution:

All equipment used must be glass/wood, or else you could expose yourself to the danger of developing poisonous bacteria.

For Arab users:

A slight change is needed for Kimchi to suit our taste buds. In order to prepare Kimchi that wouldn’t taste too sour, nor too raw to eat, please follow these tips:

1- Add only 3 tablespoon salt + 1/4 cup of vinegar to the preparation brine

2- After draining the vegetables, do not keep the old brine. Instead, prepare 2 fresh cups of water  +1/4 cup vinegar +  tablespoon hot pepper in which you will soak in the vegetables after mixing them with the other ingredients for fermentation.

3- Add only 1/4 tablespoon ginger

4- Replace garlic powder with 3 fresh minced cloves of garlic

5- Do not leave Kimchi in room temperature more than 1 day as Arabian room temperature is actually too hot which accelerates the fermentation process.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal 성균관 스캔들(2010)

Sungkyunkwan Scandal (Hangul: 성균관 스캔들) is a 2010 South Korean historical drama revolving around the fortunes and misfortunes of a  girl who masks herself as a young man while going to Sungkyunkwan, the Joseon Dynasty’s most noteworthy educational foundation, where no ladies were permitted. The show is based on Jung Eun-gwol‘s top rated 2007 novel The Lives of Sungkyunkwan Confucian Scholars, featuring Park Min-Young, Park Yoochun, Yoo Ah-in, and Song Joong-ki.

The story starts when Kim Yoon-hee (Park Min-Young) disguises herself as her sibling, Kim Yoon-shik, with a specific end goal to bring home the bacon for her family in a traditional society that does not permit females to be instructed nor utilized. She handles various jobs that requires strong writing skills , chiefly at a neighborhood book shop, before she gets offered an opportunity to build her profit by turning into a substitute test-taker (which is illegal business) for the approaching examination in the prestigious Sungkyunkwan. She is caught red-handed by the upright Lee Sun-joon (Park Yoochun), who later recognizes Yoon-hee‘s abilities, and even encourages her to join that legendary institute. There, she must hold on for the unending mistreatment of upperclassman Gu Yong-ha (Song Joong-ki), endure the consistent mood swings of room mate Moon Jae-shin (Yoo Ah-in), abstain from getting on bad terms with the strict scholar body president Ha In-soo (Jun Tae-soo), keep her greatest secret from being uncovered, and at the same time attempt to restrain her developing affections for Lee Sun-joon.

The Heirs 왕관을 쓰려는 자

The show begins by the trip of both Cha Eun-Sang (Park Shin-hye) and Kim Tan ( Lee Min Ho) to the States, where each one of them has come from a completely different background and for an absolutely different reason. For Cha Eun-Sang, her trip was supposedly to deliver some money to her sister who is to get married to a foreign man. Being from a poor family, Cha Eun-sang finds this sum of money too large and valuable (her poor mom’s life savings) to simply transfer it via banking. Accompanied by her dream to visit the enchanting States, she decides to deliver the money to her sister in person.

On the other hand, Kim Tan was facing some kind of banishment in the States; being the son of a mistress, his half brother Kim Won – who assumes that Kim Tan is seeking to inherit their father’s company and properties – pushes Kim Tan over forcing him to leave for the States under the pretext of receiving a better education.

The plot gets rhythmical when Cha Eun-Sang and Kim Tan meet and then fall for each other. On their return to South Korea, Cha Eun-Sang is shocked when she discovers that her poor mother is a stay-in maid at Kim Tan’s family residence. The shock to Kim Tan was a double as he knew his father would disapprove of and do his best to demolish their relationship.

To put his son’s choices and will to test, Kim Tan’s father Kim Nam-Yoon sends the maid’s daughter (Cha Eun-Sang) on a welfare scholarship at the same school where Kim Tan (and the majority of the elite society boys and girls ) goes. The couple witness a lot of conflicts caused by their social-class differences and by the desire of both Rachel ( Kim Tan’s fiancée – who is engaged to Kim Tan for merely promoting their father’s business), and Choi Young-do ( Kim Tan’s best friend and rival)  who has fallen for Cha Eun-Sang – to sabotage this “outrageous” relationship.

City Hunter 시티헌터 (2011)

City Hunter 시티헌터 is a 2011 South Korean TV show featuring Lee Min-ho, Park Min-Young. It is based on the Japanese manga City Hunter by Tsukasa Hojo.

In 1983, the South Korean president and his representatives were going to Burma when a shell planted by North Korean executors blasts, slaughtering some high-positioned authorities. This incident is known as the Rangoon bombing (aka Rangoon incident). To strike back, five South Korean authorities arrange a secret operation, code-named “Operation Clean Sweep,” to enter North Korea and murder a few top parts of the North’s high authorities. Lee Jin-pyo and Park Moo-yul, two Presidential Security Service bodyguards and closest  companions who were available at the bombarding, sort out a 21-man group for the mission. Be that as it may, as the group wreaks ruin in Pyongyang, the five authorities prematurely end the plan to evade a worldwide crisis if the mission is uncovered. Their significant concern is that the United States will withdraw its atomic security if the mission is made open, in light of Seoul’s authority announcement that it won’t counter that attack.

The mission was a success, yet -sadly – as the troops swim out from Nampo to a ROK Navy submarine appointed for their home-return, snipers on board their motherland’s submarine shot them dead. An effectively harmed Park yields his life to spare Lee. Lee swims over to shore and comes back to South Korea, where he figures out that the attack group’s administration and individual records have been deleted.
Determined to vindicate his fallen comrades, Jin-pyo kidnaps Moo-yul‘s newborn child. He escapes to the Golden Triangle to raise the kid as his own and trains him in battling skills. After a strike on a town they were inhabiting, Jin-pyo admits his long haul plan for vengeance to the kid, Lee Yoon-sung.

Seven years after the fact, after effectively completing his school years and accomplishing a doctorate in the United States at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yoon-sung comes back to South Korea to satisfy his foster father’s revenge. He enters the Blue House as an IT master under the National Communication Network Team. He is cautioned by Jin-pyo not to trust anybody and never to love a woman, as doing so will put those beloved ones around him in peril.

While working at the Blue House, the plot takes off after Lee meets bodyguard Kim Na-na. In the end Na-na helps him to take revenge, as they find that they have the same objective at the top of the priority list. Issues happen as Jin-pyo‘s vengeance plot unfolds, particularly when Lee challenges his surrogate father at a few events as they attempt to recognize and execute the authorities, known as the “Council of Five.”

Gu Family Book 구가의 서 (2013)

After their aristocrat father is unreasonably blamed for being a deceiver and murdered, Yoon Seo-hwa, her more youthful sibling Jung-yoon and their servant, Dam are sent to a gisaeng house (“gibang”). Declining to act as a gisaeng, Seo-hwa concurs in the wake of seeing the ruthless demolishing of her sibling. It is soon affirmed that her first “benefactor” will be none other than Jo Gwan-woong, the same man who sold out and executed her father. Before reaching him, Dam swaps garments with her so she can flee amidst the night, while Dam is attacked by Gwan-woong, who sends men to discover Seo-hwa.

Meanwhile, Gu Wol-ryung (an enchanted woodland defender and gumiho) notices an aggravation in the backwoods and discovers Seo-hwa who has passed out . He secures her from Gwan-woong’s men by uncovering his magical forces. When Seo-hwa gains consciousness, she falls in love with him too and weds him after knowing that both Dam and Jung-yoon were ready to flee and are protected. In reality, Jung-yoon had been hanged, while Dam had committed suicide. Wol-ryung, unable to let her know the truth, could not as well let her know that he was a gumiho.

Wol-ryung seeks Soo-jung ( a fortuneteller with various mysterious knowledge and skills) to help him to turn into a human so as to be with Seo-hwa. To become one, he must live 100 days without turning into his actual gumiho form, without taking a life (creature or human), and must not help anybody that needs support. In case that he falls flat, he’ll lose any possibility of regularly getting human, and as a punishment for not keeping the Gu Family Book conditions, he will turn into a devil for the following thousand years. Wol-ryung struggles to abide by these conditions, however one day, Gwan-woong’s men find Seo-hwa alone in the woodland. Wol-ryung races to help her, and uncovers his actual structure, slaughtering the warriors. Seo-hwa, alarmed by his hideous gumiho appearance, abandons him, and he is later executed by the noble trooper Dam Pyeong-joon, who had been told that the gumiho was killing innocents. Seo-hwa soon finds that she is pregnant with Wol-ryung’s kid and conceives a child. Understanding that the infant isn’t a creature like his father and sincerely mourning her disloyalty to Wol-ryung, Seo-hwa places her child in a bushel, and lets it float into the river not far from where minister Park Mu-sol was spending his morning with his family along the river’s side. She then defies Gwan-woong, yet is executed.

The baby is then found and embraced by the nobel Park Mu-sol.He grows up as Choi Kang-chi, apparently the child of Lord Park’s servant Choi. However, he is raised as a member of the Park crew. Despite the fact that Mu-sol’s wife Lady Yoon (Kim Hee-jung) never warmed up to him, Lord Park cherishes Kang-chi like his own  child, and he is near the kins Tae-seo and Chung-jo, whom he adores despite the fact that she is promised to another man. Kang-chi is infamous in the town as a troublemaker, however he is great hearted and faithful, and adored by the servants at the Hundred Year Inn, which the Park family runs.

On the other hand, Jo Gwan-woong comes back to the town. He has some intelligence that the well off Lord Park has concealed fortune inside the Hundred Year Inn, and in his plan to assume control over the hotel, Lord Park is executed protecting Kang-chi. Gwan-woong tosses Tae-seo and his mother behind bars, and Chung-jo is sold to the gibang and persuaded by the head gisaeng, Chun Soo-ryun, to survive.

In the mean time, Gwan-woong gets charmed by Kang-chi and his apparently super-human quality. He utilizes mystery to place Tae-seo under a condemnation (hypnosis) that makes him accept that it was Kang-chi who killed his father and brought on the family disaster.

Dam Yeo-wool and Gon had been dispatched to the town by her father, now-martial arts skill master -Dam Pyeong-joon, to explore a series of homicides they think Gwan-woong is answerable for. Yeo-wool runs into Kang-chi: in light of the way she’s dressed and her expertise in martial arts and bows and arrows, he at first confuses her for a man.
